

REMEMBERING L/CPL WILLIAM M. NEWLOVE
On August 27, 2018, the Coldwater Legion lowered its flags to honour Lance Corporal William Metcalfe Newlove of Coldwater, who was killed in action 100 years ago while serving on the front lines in France. William Newlove was born on May 3, 1883, in Richmond, Yorkshire, England. By the beginning of the First World War, William had moved to Canada and was residing in Coldwater. COLDWATER BRANCH WELL REPRESENTED AT WARRIORS DAY PARADE
On Saturday August 18, seven members of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 270 Coldwater travelled to the CNE in Toronto to take part in the annual Warriors Day Parade. COLDWATER STEAMPUNK FESTIVAL 2018
From August 10 to 12, 2018, thousands of people landed in the village of Coldwater to take part in the 8th annual Coldwater Steampunk Festival. Steampunk enthusiasts walked the streets dressed for the occasion in Victorian era costumes, mostly on the "Oceanic" theme, inspired by Jules Verne's 19th Century classic 20,000 Leagues under the sea.
