PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION AT THE COLDWATER BRANCH

On February 23, 2020, the annual Royal Canadian Legion Public Speaking Competition was held at Branch 270 Coldwater. Contestants ranging from Grade 2 to Grade 9 took turn at delivering their own original speech in front of judges and an audience of family and friends. Congratulations to all participants, particularly to Quinn Bremner, who won the Grades 1-3 category, and Michael Prynn, who took first prize in the Grades 7-9 category. Both will now progress to the next level. The Public Speaking Contest, part of the Legion's Youth and Education program, is meant to give young people an opportunity to speak in public. VALENTINE'S DAY DINNER AT THE LEGION

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 270 Coldwater held a special spaghetti dinner on Friday February 14 to celebrate Valentine's Day, while at the same time raising funds to help with the branch's building expenses. More than 60 people attended the dinner, which was served in a pleasant "Valentine's" ambience in a nicely decorated Legion's Club Room.
