COLDWATER LEGION RINGS IN NEW YEAR
WOW!!! Wonderful!!! What an incredible start to the New Year. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 270 Coldwater is thrilled to be the recipient of a very generous donation from Severn Timber Mart, Coldwater. If you managed to drop by the Branch on New Year’s Day for the President's Levee, you will have seen the large cheque for $5,000, the funds to be added to our ‘Raise the Roof’ fund. This is unbelievable and we are ever so grateful. Our most sincere thanks to Severn Timber Mart for their generous donation. Along with the Timber Mart cheque, we are overwhelmed to receive a donation of $2,500 from the Coldwater Lions Club to help us get the roof paid for. Thank you to Coldwater Lions Club for supporting our efforts at the Branch. What a lovely way to begin the year.
Along with our thanks to Severn Timber Mart and Coldwater Lions Club, we must thank the many private individuals who contributed to the ‘Roof’ fund as well as all those who took part in the bidding at our ‘Silent/Not So Silent’ Auction held in early December. Also, our sincere thanks go out to the ladies of the Ladies Auxiliary, led by Jane Lauder, who kindly prepared and presented a delightful lunch for our New Year’s Day Levee. Thank you very much Ladies.
I hope everyone enjoyed the lunch along with a cup of Moose Milk, concocted by Gary Perryman and Lorne McKay - and served by volunteers Tess Appleton, Dano Cousineau, and Jewel Hardman – and hopefully stayed to enjoy the music of the band Even Steven. Happy New Year everyone!
