HONOURS & AWARDS PRESENTATIONS

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 270 Coldwater and the branch's Ladies Auxiliary held a joint Honours & Awards banquet on Sunday June 2, 2019. Legion Service pins, Certificates of Appreciation & Merit, Past Office Medals and Branch Service Medals were presented to deserving members of the branch and the Ladies Auxiliary, as well as to some members of the community. The event also included the announcement of the winners of the Legion's (Ontario Command) very first Seniors Literary Competition and the presentation of awards in the Poetry, Essay, Short Story, and Memoir categories. Congratulations to winners and participants of the competition, and to all honours and award recipients! The event also included a special presentation to the branch by the three "Jumpers", or Airborne forces veterans of the branch, who donated a print of a painting commemorating the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and supporting airborne operations.
