2nd ANNUAL SENIORS LITERARY COMPETITION

Submissions to the Seniors Literary Competition must be sent by email only.

To all those writers who currently are industriously spinning their tales for our annual Seniors Literary Competition, thank you for hanging in there. With you wearing your fingers to the bones on your lovely new MAC or Dell, or whatever, we can honestly say while the Legion building is closed, we are very much alive and things are happening.

Unfortunately, for those who are anxious for results, we have extended the closing deadline to Monday, June 15, 2020. Only ELECTRONIC submissions will be accepted this year, and they must be received at our new Seniors Literary email address <branch270seniorsliterary@gmail.com> by 6.00 p.m. June 15, 2020. No exceptions. Fortunately, for those who did not have time available previously but do now because of COVID-19, we welcome you and are pleased you have this opportunity to take part. Any resident of Ontario over the age of 55, other than the Seniors Literary Competition Chairmen and their respective judges, are welcome to enter the competition. You do not need to be a member of any Legion branch to take part. There are four categories - essays, poems, short stories and memoirs - and you may enter one submission in each category if you wish. Send a memo to the above email address and I will be happy to forward the entry form and rules of the competition for you to get started.

I am excited that we are able to provide this diversion for so many in our community, and if you hear of someone outside our community whose branch is not offering this competition just have them send it on to us as well. We will be happy to accept it and send it on to the appropriate branch that is hosting its own Seniors Literary Competition. I'm looking forward to reading your stories. Good Luck everyone!
