On May 3, 2026, members of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 270 Coldwater gathered at the Coldwater Cenotaph to lay a wreath in remembrance of the Battle of the Atlantic. Fought between September 1939 and May 1945, the Battle of the Atlantic was the longest continuous battle of the Second World War. In Canada it is commemorated each year on the first Sunday in May. Seen here on the photo, laying the wreath is Branch President Kari Malmström, escorted by Sergeant-at-Arms Barry Gougeon. Comrades Gaëtanne Robinson, John O'Hara, Cheryll Barr, and Norm Marion also took part in the ceremony.
