Today, Friday April 10, 2026, representatives of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 270 Coldwater presented a Royal Canadian Legion Friendship Award to Paul Sadlon Motors in Barrie, Ont. Branch President Kari Malmström made the presentation to Paul Sadlon Jr. and his sister Jan Daly, and Branch 1st Vice President and Honours & Awards Chair John O'Hara described the reasons that led to the selection of Paul Sadlon Motors for the award.
"Paul Sadlon Motors of Barrie has, over the years, helped the Coldwater Legion Branch 270 with many initiatives, providing assistance as required. This included the provision of luxury vehicles that were used to shuttle guests at significant Legion events, or to enable our members to attend the funeral of one of our Veterans. They also provided a shipping container for on-site secure storage during renovations at the branch, and donated several items in support of special events at the branch. For these reasons and their dedication to community spirit, Paul Sadlon Motors is awarded a Royal Canadian Legion Friendship Award."
When an organization assists the Royal Canadian Legion and their assistance becomes an ongoing effort, the Legion has this special Friendship Award, which can be awarded to recognize their contribution to community and assistance of Veterans.
In addition to the Friendship Award, a Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Branch member Karen Way, in recognition of her contributions to the branch, including liaison with Paul Sadlon Motors in support of branch activities.
